Pray for Japan

Tuning on to all of the news networks over the past few days, we've seen the pictures, we've heard the horror stories, we've felt the emotions of sorrow, distress, pain, and yes, even helplessness as we follow the painful developments from Japan. From the earthquake, the tsunamis that have affected even the United States, volcanic eruptions, power plant explosions, the human heart can't help but to feel the need to help those who are going through this difficult time.

Unfortunately, there are those who do not believe in God that ridicule us who do pray for the Japanese people and who pompously and declare that God is irrelevant because He let this happen. And there are those who pray that the people of island repent from their ancestrial worship to the worship of God in order for this to stop.

While I agree that the people of Japan should turn to the True God, at the same time, we who do profess the True God should pray for the people of Japan that they will be able to recover from the devastation, to pray that those directly affected will be comforted in their time of need and suffering. I think that's the problem sometimes, too much religiosity and not enough compassion.

Please continue to pray for the people of Japan in this difficult time. And put your prayer into action by helping the charities that are working for the relief efforts of the Japan disaster:
