As a lifelong Jerseyan, I hate when people hate on my home state. From late night talk shows, to a common joke on the street, to celebrities from New Jersey (go figure, most of them are from North Jersey, I'd hate NJ too if I came from Devils country), I think that Jersey gets a bad name, not because of the people in New Jersey, but because of those bum Yankees-loving, Giants-cheering, pizza-eating, over-botoxed New York socialites (yes they're stereotypes-but so are what those Norkers have been calling us Jerseyans for years).
That's why it ticks me off that MTV (which is pretty much garbage when it all boils down) decided to renew Jersey Shore for another season. I wouldn't mind it if the show were about regular Jersey kids working down at the shore for the summer (which is common for a lot of Jersey people, especially those coming home from college for the summer). But these people are (wait for it) New York guidos and guidettes who have invaded our state to increase the stereotype that people from New Jersey say "Joizee" and whose lives revolve around casual sex, getting into fights, and using so much hair gel that you can take a pan and fry breakfast on your head on a really hot day. THEY'RE NOT JERSEYANS! Tell them to stay in New York and do a show from there, Coney Island Boardwalk or something. Not only that, I find it very insulting to my cuparis who are not like these lowlifes who give a bad name to the Italian community in ways that make Al Capone and Joey Merlino wish they were Irish.
Brace up New Jersey, the onslaught continues.
